I know, I know it's a bit early for the 'C' word already, and I love nothing more then Halloween. I just couldn't wait any longer to share the Paperchase Christmas press day. I mean there were rainbow Christmas trees, and you know how I feel about rainbows. Also if your like me I like to buy my things in advance and put them away so by the time Christmas rolls around I'm not rushing around and stressed. I think it can really kill the whole festive vibe. So the press day was incredible and honestly I'd probably have to start selling organs, to afford everything on my list. Also I don't have room for everything, but I will be picking up some new bits for my colourful tree this year.

London is a strange beast, sometimes it feels grey and like if you have no money you may as well stay in. Other times the sun comes out and the city comes to life, free festivals etc and it's hard to pick what to do first. We were long overdue for a nice family day out, and Baz and I didn't want to head out too far. As the boys get hot and bothered, than we argue and it ruins the day. So Southbank is always a go too. They have a massive sandpit during the summer, that the boys absolutely love and let's us take in our surroundings without the boys nagging that they are bored. There are a heap of places to eat and drink, whatever your budget.

Primark | Spring Summer 2017 Collection
Friday, 24 March 2017
While you know I'm a thrifty charity shop gal at heart, I still struggle every now hunting down perfect pieces to add to my wardrobe. I'll put my hands up and say, of course I like a little bit of trend pieces in my wardrobe sometimes it's nice to mix it up. The thing I love about Primark is that while pieces are still trend lead, they tend to still keep a mix that whatever your style you can get on board with. If you're on the tiniest budget, you can still add a couple of must have pieces without the fear of having to eat baked beans on toast. So what offerings do Primark have for you this season, and what can you find in store now.

Next Christmas 2016 Press Day
Wednesday, 16 November 2016
Christmas this years seems to have come out of nowhere, like a beautiful jolly slap to the face. This year hasn't been the best, so when someone says 'hey want to see a new collection' I'm on it quicker than a cat on the Christmas tree. Emma and I jumped on the tube, excited to see how they were styling this seasons trends. Next have come a long way over the years, once more of a brand classic that all the cool mums shopped in. It's taking more risks when it comes to collections. While there is inspiration taking from the catwalk walks, I can't help but feel they've also been looking more at street style and how over the years their customers are wanting a bit more sass in their lives.
The mere mention of Autumn is a little soul destroying to be honest, summer this year has been a mix of wearing rain apparel than receiving a weeks worth of sun in a day. Literally mad, and exhausting. Saying that I personal have always prefer the colder months, I love to layer up and have a warm drink in my hand while going about my day. I feel like I get more done, because I'm not spending tell stressing about what to wear. I'm always excited to see new trends, and feel inspired for the next season.
While your probably wearing more layers than a cat has lives, I'm sure like myself your day dreams are all about Spring. The first little ray of sunshine, and those tights are going in the bin, and the sunglasses are coming out. So I know sharing a Spring/Summer collection is odd, at the same time I hope it makes you happy that actual it's not that far away. So what can you expect from Primark this season.

VINTAGE
Vintage Shopping With Rokit
Tuesday, 2 February 2016
Rokit - Covent Garden
I can still remember the first Rokit store I ever stumbled upon, it was a warm Saturday and me and Barry had been in Camden for most of the morning. We had just polished off a curry from the the market and decided to walk around once more before heading home- In other words I decided I need to buy more and dragged Barry with me. I had money to spend so it must have been close to payday, but was bored of the high street and fancied expanding my vintage wardrobe.
Which back than was around four items, I guess I was still learning about key pieces to invest in, and decided I couldn't go wrong with a denim skirt. I wore that bad boy to death, than when it got worn it looked even cooler. I went back the next month and picked one up in every colour. They were Levis reworked jeans that had been dyed and looked rocking. Simple but a classic, and to be honest if my waistline hadn't expanded over the years I would probably be wearing the same ones now. -Note to self buy some on your next shopping trip.
As you know I love vintage, but as it's so popular now it can be a bit of a mare to find great vintage. The lovely peeps at Rokit invited me down to see if I could find some fab pieces to not only look funky in but jazz up my winter wardrobe. Of course I was counting down the days till I could get to a store to bat this challenge out the park.
Where to start that is always the problem. I tend to look in jackets and coats first, I think when your shopping for adding into your wardrobe this is a way of getting a piece that you will wear more. While I was there I think a women mistook me for a Rokit peep and wanted my advice on a couple of jackets. I love to shop so natural helped her find a perfect 90s faux fur trim coat that would have made the cast of Almost Famous proud, and than chatted about why the 90s was so much better to be a teenager in.
Than out the corner of my eye spotted this beautiful jacket that was a cross between, Chanel meets Clueless sadly it was a little too small for me. Sometimes this will happen, it's vintage, it's a one off. But than I spotted a pink checked jacket of dreams, and it fit like a glove. I love layering thinner jackets under heavy coats, as you can still have all that fun print and stay warm. The staff were amazing as I asked if they had any 60s party wear that I could try on. We found this amazing sequin top, which makes me feel like a real life mermaid (outfit post to come) and there was a moment I was going to put it back, but it was so beautiful. I did try on a couple of jumpers and dresses but again it's about fit. I found so much but of course had to be selective about what I would actual wear. There party wear is insane and I wanted to roll about in all the amazing dresses. They also have a massive range for lads too, including shoes and accessories which to be honest I always have a nose at because vintage men's sweaters are the one.
I was really impressed to see they still sell reworked items, I mean who doesn't like a newly cropped vintage cat sweater. I was already planning on which shirt I'd layer it over, but before I could reach up a girl grabbed it. * Word to the wise, if you like it pick it up than decided if it's you or not. Vintage shopping is such a rush, I guess it's not knowing what's going to be there. Of course Rokit like other vintage stores makes it easy for you to shop, but at the same time it gets your style juices flowing on items you may have not considered before. I guess the best advice I can give you is have an open mind, and try things on. It may look smaller and fit. It may be your size but maybe doesn't fit you in the right places. Rokit is great for vintage on a budget too, they have a wide range of low to high end and you can always find something unique. I'm looking forward to showing you how I style my pieces for some jazzy winter inspiration. Have you shopped with Rokit? What was your best find?
I finally have Internet again, so sorry for the lack of posts. If you read my last post, you would have seen that I attended Boohoo's workshops at LFW. I think even when you think you know everything there is too know, it's good to see other points of view and also maybe learn something new. I'm so glad I attended, as it was great to hear talks on vlogging, something I'm not that familiar with the blogging babe Sophie Hannah Richards who I've know a while now. She spoke about the best time to post videos, using tags correctly to make it easier for people to find you and your videos. I think we all felt that maybe it wasn't as scary as we had once thought - Blogging and vlogging are very different, but once you find your feet in both you get use to the process.
How cute are those dungaree flares, I don't think a pair of dungarees has ever put a smile on my face before. But I need them badly, I think I'm going to put them on my Christmas list. So you better read this Santa. I thought i would share some snaps of the new collection, as it's really strong this season. As always I think it's better to add a couple of strong pieces into your wardrobe than try to overhaul the whole thing.
Also lucky for you lot, Boohoo are running a competition to win £150 worth of vouchers which could help with your A/W threads. This is for anyone, boy, girl, magical unicorn, pizza rat. So if you have some clothing, put it on your body. Style it out, get hash tagging and snap like you never have before. If your unsure of anything head over to their site to read the T&C's.
Okay so there's still the odd sunny day in London, but let's face facts it's autumn and that means it's going to start getting chilly. But if the thought of having to bulk on clothing is making you sad, than Boohoo's new autumn winter collection may put a smile back on your face. As again they have produced a collection that really channels the trends on a budget. If your thinking of having of overhauling your wardrobe, or simple just want to add a couple of pieces to take you from your summer one they have made it easy.
Layering is a must, but not in a way you're maybe use too. Layering a polo-neck, turtle neck or a roll-neck ... any top that covers your neck under a dress will be the hero of your winter woes wardrobe. You can go for a retro vibe with some graphic button down skirt, if your not feeling a dress. There was a real mix, a rainbow bodycon dress stole the show for me, but I also loved a cute denim dress (yes another one to add to my collection I think). There was a lot of 60s and 70s influence, which I couldn't get enough of. I also really loved a round black faux fur handbag and a pair of black boots which had a little cowboy buckle detail.
Boohoo always has something for any budget and does some quality investment pieces, the coats this season will not disappoint. A camel coat with faux fur trim on both the collar and wrists, looks like it fell out of Penny Lanes wardrobe in Almost Famous. With fringed bags to finish the look, I can already see everyone embracing their inner hippy. Some pieces are already online, you can always tweet them if your having trouble.
