So okay you may want to take a massive breath, because this collection is a bit of Clueless meets Save By The Bell, with a dab of Clarissa Explains it all and a dash of Fresh Prince 90s goodness. For those of you who prefer the white out trend, there is lace glory with details, holographic and sliver and we have not even begun to talk about all the footwear and accessorises. So let me calm myself down, so I can type again. If you head over to the River Island website they have started to add the new collections already, you can also view the new trends.
I fall in love with the fluffy bags, some pineapple shorts (pineapples will be everywhere come S/S14) and the glitter jelly shoes. Shoes are getting chunky, so let go of your fears, and try them out. Trust me they are comfortable and go with everything, you just have to give them a chance. There was a whole rail filled with pastel coloured clothing, pretty, girly and perfect. I think this summer, more is more and clashing textures and pattern are a must. Or you can go the other end and wear the new monochrome, keep it simple, sharp but chic with sheer panels, lace skirts and holographic jeans. Biker jackets are back, but detail is in the arms and cropped.
I think the piece I could have 'borrowed' there and now, come in the form of a pencil skirt that was covered in fake flowers. It reminded me of one of the characters from ''Real Monsters' anyone remember them? Sadly I had to leave it there, but I did get to wear it after all as they had an amazing illustrator there @Miss_Magpie_Spy who draw little old me in the skirt! I can't express enough love for this collection. What do you think of it? Any pieces you need in your wardrobe?
I can see the 90s influence - i say bring it on as i love the collections.
