Matalan S/S 2013 Collection

This spring summer the Matalan in-house design team have created five womenswear collections, and as always they are pretty amazing. What I love with Matalan is that their clothing is flattering for all ages, all dress sizes and that it's purse friendly. Some high street brands are still forgetting that about mature ladies, and also that if your not a size 10 you still like to look glam rather than wear a garment shaped like a tent. So anyway the collections .....

For me the three that are really going to win your wardrobe space are:

Blue Indigo- Hues of blue are heroes with use of denim fabric, middle eastern prints, embroidery, dip dye and ombre. Scarf print dresses worn buttoned up for a more chic look, or for a more relaxed look team a embroidered cream blouse with washed denim shorts.

Utility Luxe- You know it by now! Military seamlessly transcends through in to spring summer. This time accent Khaki with cream, coral, indio blue and ochre. Thing a flowered print dress with an army camouflage parka adorned with lagre crushed gems and faux lather sleeves.

Monochrome- Let's face it is going to be everywhere. Clean lines and graphic shapes play with the female from to give a sophisticated edge to this dramatic trend. With lace and peek-a-boo cutwork adds a little fun into the look. pieces to grab quick are high waited pencil skirts and peplum shift tops and dresses. (this trend is perfect to work into your office wear.

There were so many piceces to choose from, and as I made my way around I mental ticked off what I will be buying. Knitwear is insanely cool this season and as for the accessories you will be spoilt for choice. Acessories are bold and unapologetic, from futuristic finishes, gemoetric shapes and sharp lines teamed with the fabrics from each collection they are a key pice this season to finishing your look. I personal loved all the bags, my favourite was the bucket bag which is great for throwing in everything you own and still looking effortlessly cool. I also adore the boots from this season, in tan and cream with plenty of stud detail to keep any stud addict (aka me!) more than happy.

This collection is already slowly being released into stores and online, so keep hitting the  new arrivals to make sure you get your hands on some of these cool key trend looks.

  1. Whilst I do love some of the stuff in Matalan, I never buy anything in there! The sizing is really off I find, it's so annoying because half of my wardrobe would contain their clothes! x

  2. I love Matalan for it's bargain shoes and accessories :)

Please come and check out my latest post if you have a few minutes spare :)

  3. Matalan has done good! I can definitely see a few things I'll be keeping an eye out for!
