Letterbox Cake

So last week the lovely folks at Baker Days, asked me if I wanted to try their letterbox cake. Visions of the postman stuffing handfuls of crumbing cake filled my mind, but wait were talking about free cake here so what do you think I said. So anyway I headed over to their site to design my own, I thought I would use one of my Instagram snaps from my many shopping trips. Also I wanted to have my blog name on it, so I picked my template to *this is template 19 by the way. Than the best part, the filling. Who could resist the chocolate chip sponge cake made with Belgian chocolate ...drools on keyboard.

Than it was a short wait before it came, and no not crumbed through the letterbox. Instead in a box with candles, a blower and three balloons did I find my cake in a pretty tin. There's clear instructions to remove the plastic to, so you don't have to dig your fingers in and deface your cake. I was shocked if I'm honesty I was not excepting much, it had my photo and blog name clearly and I love the colourful trim. So it had to taste bad right, it must be dry because everyone knows that pretty cakes usual taste vile. Well no actual we cut it into four slices, and there was silence than a 'mmmm' it tasted a bit like brownies with icing. It's actual by far one of thee nicest cakes I've had the pleasure of scoffing, one would be forgive if by accident you sent  your  'their' cake to yourself.

I would send one of these to a friend as a nice treat, these ones are from £14.99. They also have small, large cakes and cupcakes. I think it's great if your looking for something more special than just from the supermarket.

  3. This does sound like a good idea for friends who don't live near to me, but I can't get past thinking it would turn up dry and a bit past it's best..

  7. I had one of these and it was most delicious, the only problem was it wasn't big enough for the deliciousness, I wanted to eat the whole thing, to myself, then sick it up and eat it again.
