Rihanna For River Island Catwalk Show

Standing outside the old sorting office in New Oxford street, the queue went from just me to a massive crowd of press, editors, bloggers and famous faces. Rihanna for River Island was indeed the hot ticket to have, I'm never the girl to be at things like this and it felt amazing. I met with blog friends (and mega babes) Lauren from Girl Stole London and Sheree from Glitz N Grime, we all were pretty overwhelmed by the set up. We took photos with all the celebrities there, who were all really down to earth and friendly. Sheree was photographed by Facehunter, and didn't even realise it was him!

So after us peeling ourselves from the floor after chatting with Cara Delevingne *swoon, who is beyond lovely we calmed our excitement as it was time for the show to begin. The lights dimmed, and models appeared on stage almost like Rihanna would for one of  her gig's. The show was styled by thee amazing talented Mel Ottenberg (Ri Ri stylist) and Adam Selman, her designer. I loved the sleek back hair by Johnnie Sapong with Bumble and Bumble and colour pop lipstick by makeup artist Sam Bryant with mac.

Lauren, Sheree and Me

Rihanna infused her Barbados roots into the collection, with her fishnet crop top and skirt. I'm not sure I could pull off nips out, but layered over a vest I think even I could rock this.Satin dresses, jersey skirts and dresses with thigh high splits were an instant delight to everyones eye's. The collection screamed of Rihanna, but at the same time I could already see pieces that would suit most body shapes. Tensile twill parkas, crop tops, t-shirts and denim remembered me of her video 'we found love'.  Buttery soft leather baseball jackets, fine gauge knits maxi dresses and military inspired over the knee boots (which are divine) form the Limited Edition collection with only 200 pieces of each item being made. Elbows at the ready for the 5th of March as this collection is going to fly out.

Over all the collection was/is a great mix of separates, that anyone could style into her wardrobe. It's sassy, sexy and yet fun and wearable. With a colour palette of red monochrome, floral prints, tie dye and stripes it's spot on for spring summer trends.

Thank you so much to the River Island Team for inviting such an amazing event, without a doubt this made my London Fashion week ... Hell it made my year! The collection goes
on sale on the 5th of March and summer, which goes on sale in May. Both collections will also be sold exclusively in the US and Japan at Opening Ceremony.

  8. I was overall disappointed with the collection- I know she created it with all girls in mind, but a shirt sewn to a skirt? How is that even credited as fashion!? Some pieces are amazing like the fluro crop tops and the monochrome bralet and shorts, but I'm not going to be buying any soon!
