Matalan A/W 2012 Part 1

So as I mentioned the other day, I was invited to the Matalan press day to come and see what they had to offer us all for Autumn Winter 2012. Oh it was so good, to be honest I didn't know what to take photos of first as so many things were grabbing my attention. This season Matalan's design team have come up with six trend led collections. There was such a mix going on, but I knew right away what I would have bought than and there which was pretty much everything.

I think it was Cyber Jam that stood out most for me, with cobalt blue, galactic inspired prints in a jazzy metallic and futuristic shapes it's me through and through. I like a good mixer of colour and texture, A/W can be so dull and grim in London, so it's great to wear things that are playful and a bit glam. Those leopard print boots will be coming to live with me, they also come in the normal leopard print, but I adore the blue.

These shoes are going to be, no wait ARE a huge must have trust me come A/W the toe cap will be everywhere. Most of the shoes are priced under £20, which means you can go more than a little crazy and not feel bad if you buy one, two or even ten pairs!

I adore the details in their dresses and blouses with embellishments in the collar, I was ready to put them on there and than. They are so pretty and come winter, will be perfect for any Christmas party or just layering under a chunky knit. Stay warm and sparkle. Glam Gothic sees a darker mood, with a stunning Jessie J style leather jacket GIMMIE GIMMIE! To lace, studs and even metallic jacquard so agin a real mix even if your not a huge fan of colour.

These were the 'famous' shorts I Instragramed about, see I said they had a cross on the back, these are so cute and cool and I adore the dip dye fringe detail at the front. Dip dye in clothing is going to be huge, so these are a great way of having the trend in your wardrobe, and I think they will take you through into next year as well as fringe is always a huge hit (festival season ready). This amazing skull vest is on my wish list too, I love skulls and sequins being added into the mix means that even girly girls can toughen up there look and something different.

Need this jumper and the aztec shorts!

The other collections are 60's Gamine, Man's World, Wildcraft and English Heritage (which is very Blair Waldorf for all you GG fans), oh yeah and than there were the shoes, studs, snakeskin and glam where the theme and check out those Mui Mui style inspired heels!

So a huge thank you to the wonderful team at Matalan, I can't wait for this collection to hit the stores. What do you think? Any pieces you like the look of? I will post the rest of the collection as it's too good not too.

Me with the lovely Charlotte

  9. I honestly think my local Matalan gets all the cool stuff that I see people blog about each season, and just rejects it all in favour of khaki three quarter length combat pants. I need to find a better store because this lot looks amazing!
