Dead Good Day

Untitled

So it is my favourite time of year, no forget Halloween I'm talking about the Day Of The Dead. If you have never heard of it have a read here, so now that you are clued up you can see why this is a great celebration. I love that it celebrates people you have lost, in colour and decoration. Why can't you be joyful about those people, I don't wish to remember the pain they went through. I want to think about the fact I was lucky enough to know them and the good times we shared. I have lost  A LOT ! of good people in my life, and I think about they all the time.

So my wonderful followers, I hope you will celebrate those you have lost, and enjoy this moment too. Sorry I have no outfit today but I will be doing some photo's of my week and so cool makeup looks. Plus no one has left feedback for what they would like to see.

Come on guy's and gal's what would you like to see in my next post?

So there is also some cool events going on like at Lush stores they are having this:
Come along to your local Lush shop on Saturday 30th October and join in the Day of the Dead celebrations! Call your local shop or check their Facebook pages for details.

From October 31st to November 2nd, the people of
Mexico celebrate el Día de los Muertos - the Day
of the Dead! The festival is a traditional and beautiful
celebration of the lives of those who have passed on
and allows the living to remember them in their own way.
The festival encompasses bright costumes, dancing
skeletons, candy skulls, showers of marigolds and the odd
indulgence in a tequila or two...
Hannah, our ambassador of fun and frolics, adores The Day of the Dead, and her passion for the celebration is so infectious that we had to create a range of products that would honour the truth and beauty of such a magical day.
To both Hannah and the spirits of those who have left us, this one's for you.

Other celebrations in London From View London:
Mexican festival
Also known as El Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead is a Mexican festival where families and friends join together to celebrate the lives of departed loved ones. Central to the festivities is the ofrenda, an altar piled high with flowers, food, and other offerings. If you don't have the chance to make it all the way over to Latin America for the 2010 Day of the Dead, London restaurants, bars, and cultural venues are putting on Mexican themed events to help you join in with all the fun.

Rich Mix
One of the most musical Day of the Dead London events takes place at Rich Mix, where The Crick Crack Club's Day of the Dead celebrations features lyrical storytelling from the Mariachi Jalisco. Doors open at 7.30pm on Tuesday 2nd November: tickets cost £6.00 in advance and £8.00 on the door.

Wahaca
Fancy a free shot of tequila to get you in the party mood? Last year, Mexican restaurant Wahaca gave out shots of the fiery drink at its venues in Covent Garden and Westfield Shopping Centre, and there was also a special Day of the Dead cocktail too. Click back soon for information on the 2010 event.

Benitos Hat
Benitos Hat will be hosting a Day of the Dead party from 6.30pm on Tuesday 2nd November, featuring Vampiro cocktails nachos and quesadillas, along with the restaurant's famous tamales.

The Met Bar
You can nibble on a seasonal Day of the Dead De-Light afternoon tea at The Met Bar, featuring moreish nibbles that won't add unwelcome inches to your waist. Sample cocoa nib chocolate cupcakes topped with sugar skull decorations, coffin shaped chilli chocolate mud pies, traditional Mexican tea cakes filled with dark cherries, and savoury snacks such as chicken fajita with sour cream and refried bean mousse. The Day of the Dead afternoon tea is available from 25th October - 2nd November 2010, and costs £25.00 per person.

Eat, drink and be merry
While the bars and restaurants below might not be putting on any specific Day of the Dead London events, you can still expect to enjoy a splash of authentic Latin culture and cuisine on your night out.

The Day of the Dead London events take place on and around Tuesday 2nd November 2010.

  6. Good news! This year we're going to be running a promotion with more free tequila for everyone from 2nd - 4th November. And we're particularly excited that we're able to offer our brand new, multi-award winning tequila El Tesoro along with a glass of sangrita to ensure super smooth sipping. There's going to be a facebook competition to win a copy of Tommi's book too! What fun. Hope to see you there. Oli@Wahaca.
